We are from California and for many years we had been in serious need of water. Our ground was dry and brittle, our farmers praying for rain to sustain our crops. It reminded us of the following verses where the Psalmist expresses the same kind of longing for the Lord that we experienced longing for rain:
“O, God, You are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will praise you.” Psalm 63:1-3.
Knowing that drought doesn’t only happen to our land, but sometimes also wearies our souls, Sophie Taylor of Taylor Design Studio and Cara Olsen of Rosalie Gwen Paperie collaborated to create verse & hymn centered greeting cards to encourage those who are overwhelmed by life’s challenges and sorrows.
